Activities at Flowerdown Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Flowerdown Care Home
Barton Farm Academy Children visit
We had a lovely visit from our friends at Barton Farm Academy who came to practice their reading. They read books about animals and Paddington bear and they also sang to us which we really enjoyed. Residents loved interacting with the children and were filled with joy, listening to the children read their stories.
A visit from Students of Winchester College
We have regular visits from a group of Winchester College students who like to take part in games with us especially skittles which all the residents enjoy which provides us with lots of laughter and competiveness.
Happy Halloween from Flowerdown
Yesterday at Flowerdown Care Home, our residents enjoyed pumpkin carving with Kate and Hannah. Creative juices were flowing, thinking of scary designs that get to be cut out in these hollowed pumpkins. The residents also suggested displaying their creations in our visiting suite, a display for everyone to admire!
Later in the evening, pumpkin soup was served - in theme with our morning activity.

Birthdays Made Special
We celebrated one of our residents' birthday with a bang! You're only 90 once, and enjoying this special milestone with family and friends is a must!
Our resident's family from New Zealand also came to party. Home-made cake, decor, laughter and singing - an atmosphere of positive vibes all around.
We wish you the best! Now, blow the candle, cut the cake and make a wish!
Diwali Celebrations
Flowerdown Care Home's residents and their families enjoyed an afternoon of cultural diversity as the home celebrated Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
Our residents and their loved ones, together with our special visitors, had been entertained with traditional songs, dances and food.
Raffle tickets were drawn and the lucky winners definitely did have bang for their buck! All proceeds will go to the Winchester Hospice as chosen by our residents.
