Activities at Fordmill Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Julia Constandache
I’m Julia and I have been working at Fordmill since December 2016. I really enjoy art and studied Graphic Design & Illustration in Dundee. I love being with people and using my skills to improve their quality of life and bring a smile to their faces through crafts, games and all sorts of other activities.
I plan out the activities, either for groups or individuals, according to specific needs and interests. It’s a real joy to get to know residents and their loved ones and I’m grateful to Barchester for giving me the opportunity to work with them and bring some sunshine into the residents’ lives.

Life at Fordmill Care Home
National Squirrel Appreciation day
National Squirrel Appreciation Day is a fun excuse to have a celebration on a random day in January. We were extremely lucky to be able to walk in the garden and have so much fun, the weather was just glorious. We had even an unexpected visitor
Robbie Burns party at the 'Fordmill Inn'
We had a very busy afternoon at "Fordmill Inn" celebrating Robbie Burns. Was an afternoon full of Scottish music, singing dancing, poetry, plenty snacks and drinks enjoyed by all. Was nice to be able to gather together and spend some time with old friends and meeting new ones.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas from all of us here at Fordmill. The residents had a lovely lunch and probably everyone is having a nap at the moment as the home is a total silence. Was a team effort but we are extremely proud that we where able to make the residents feel special today and always.
Carol concert
We had a brilliant afternoon singing and dancing. Our Fordmill choir did extremely well and everyone enjoyed listening and singing Christmas Carols. It's really beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you look in the home. We were treated to hot chocolate and home made pancakes and they were absolutely delicious.
Christmas Jumper Day
Christmas Jumper Day at Fordmill. Here are some pictures of our residents and staff proudly wearing their Christmas Jumper.
Christmas party
Another year, another Christmas Party here at Fordmill. We are trying our best to keep our residents and staff happy and leave their life as normal as it can be at Fordmill despite all the trouble this virus is causing for such a long time now. We had a lovely time this afternoon celebrating Christmas and we also drew the raffle and some of the residents were very lucky to win some of the prizes.
