Activities at Forest Hill Care Home
We are a team of four activity organisers here at Forest Hill. We have a wide range of activities within the home including: musical entertainment, Arts & Crafts, Clubs for like minded people such as flower arranging and gardening, board games, baking (where the best bit is the eating afterwards!), and we celebrate special events throughout the year, such Easter, Mothers Day & Fathers Day and Christmas. We also have trips out on a regular basis using our own minibus, where we find out places of interest each person would like to visit. One of our more popular trips is to the local ice cream farm. We recently fulfilled one of our ladies dreams to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, something she had always wanted to do.
For our ladies and gentlemen who are nursed in bed, we have one to one times, which may be hand or foot massage or reading, & listening to music. We encourage families to get as involved as they can with activities and outings and have recently created a Terrace Cafe area, where visiting families can take their loved one for tea & biscuits and spend valuable time together.
Sue Bestwick
Sue arranges activities and outings for our residents and makes each day as interesting and stimulating as possible for them. Sue's bubbly enthusiasm and determination to put a smile on people's faces is a real asset to Forest Hill. Sue is always keen to get family members involved too so that they can share happy, fulfilled and quality moments with their loved ones.

Life at Forest Hill Care Home
Elvis has entered the building
We enjoyed a fabulous BBQ lunch that was followed by an Elvis Presley tribute act; the artist was fantastic and enjoyed by everyone.
A Trip to Lincoln Castle
The Wave of poppies from the Tower of London has been reconstructed at Lincoln Castle; residents enjoyed a day out to see them.
Birthday Boat Trip
George celebrated his birthday in style on the Newark Crusader - a specially constructed boat for wheelchair users. We sang Happy Birthday as we cruised down the River Trent enjoying the wildlife and the beautiful weather.
The Chelsea Flower Show
Lynn had always wanted to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, so we set off to London on the Thursday morning, stopping at the London Holiday Inn Mayfair, giving us time to do some girly shopping. On the Friday, we went to the Flower Show, which was amazing, and saw all the hand-knitted poppies - each one was unique and made by people aged from 2 to 102.
Strictly Come Dancing at Forest Hill
Strictly Come Dancing came to Forest Hill for International Dance Day.
Residents & staff all participated and our judging panel awarded prizes for the highest score!
Volunteer Recognition Day at Forest Hill
In appreciation for all their dedication to making resident's lives at Forest Hill brighter, Volunteer Recognition Day was the ideal opportunity to say thank you to our volunteers, Vera & Angela.
