Activities at Forest Hill Care Home
We are a team of four activity organisers here at Forest Hill. We have a wide range of activities within the home including: musical entertainment, Arts & Crafts, Clubs for like minded people such as flower arranging and gardening, board games, baking (where the best bit is the eating afterwards!), and we celebrate special events throughout the year, such Easter, Mothers Day & Fathers Day and Christmas. We also have trips out on a regular basis using our own minibus, where we find out places of interest each person would like to visit. One of our more popular trips is to the local ice cream farm. We recently fulfilled one of our ladies dreams to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, something she had always wanted to do.
For our ladies and gentlemen who are nursed in bed, we have one to one times, which may be hand or foot massage or reading, & listening to music. We encourage families to get as involved as they can with activities and outings and have recently created a Terrace Cafe area, where visiting families can take their loved one for tea & biscuits and spend valuable time together.
Sue Bestwick
Sue arranges activities and outings for our residents and makes each day as interesting and stimulating as possible for them. Sue's bubbly enthusiasm and determination to put a smile on people's faces is a real asset to Forest Hill. Sue is always keen to get family members involved too so that they can share happy, fulfilled and quality moments with their loved ones.

Life at Forest Hill Care Home
Her Majesty's 90th Birthday Celebrations
Residents of Forest Hill celebrated in style for the Queen's 90th birthday, where we all sang along to war-time favourites with well-known local vocalists, Jayne Darling & Matt Shephardson, accompanied by the ‘Simply Swing Band’. We enjoyed a pie & pea lunch followed by a birthday toast to Queen Elizabeth II.
A Trip to the Tropical Butterfly House
A fun day was enjoyed by one of our residents at the Tropical Butterfly House & Falconry Centre, where we saw many beautiful butterflies and birds.
Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Friday saw our annual Easter Egg Hunt joined by family & friends. 1st Prize was won by our resident Ralph, but no one lost out as there were plenty of runner up prizes to give away.
National Mining Museum Trip
At one of our monthly residents meetings George expressed a wish to visit the NMM (national mining museum) which we arranged and visited this month, we looked around the museum and ended with a trip underground to see how it’s changed through the years. George had a brilliant time!
Lincoln Castle
A great afternoon was had when we visited Lincoln Castle to see the new purpose built home to house the Magna Carta of King John. We walked around the battlements and photographed the glorious landscape.
Dads Army Revisited
Spam sandwiches and Winston Churchill was the order of the day as we stepped back in time to sample what life was like during WWII ‘On the Home Front’ at Rufford Country Park, we met a whole array of colourful characters and had a fabulous time.
