Activities at Fountains Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Easter fun at Fountains

Residents at Fountains enjoyed various activity leading up to Easter and receiving their chocolate eggs.

An Easter egg hunt in the grounds was a lot of fun too.

Hoping everyone has enjoyed a blessed Easter from all at Fountains.

Pictured with Gillian is Sumia, Fountains' Dementia Champion who organised and collected the kind donation for all our residents.

Parkinson's Awareness Event

Solihull Branch of Parkinson’s held a Parkinson’s Awareness Day at Solihull Indoor Bowls Centre in Solihull and Fountains were delighted to support the event.

Having supported residents with Parkinson’s at Fountains, it is a cause close to our hearts, so our talented kitchen team got baking and donated 100 cup cakes for sale, with all monies raised going towards supporting activity for people with Parkinson’s.

The event was a day full of fun with a wide range of activities to join in with, such as walking football, CrossFit, boxing and much more.

We’re hoping our cakes on the cake stall were a big hit!

A medley of activities

Fountains residents have enjoyed a medley of activities that we wanted to share with our Facebook friends. We've enjoyed performances from Libby and Richie Vee, movement to music, armchair dance, jigsaw fun and more dancing!

Our residents thoroughly enjoy music and to dance like no one is watching

Bingo fun

Fountains staff and residents played their first game of bingo together and it can only be described as raucous!

It was so much fun and the laughter and giggling could be heard on all communities.

Chocolate prizes were up for grabs and everyone's competitive streak was clear to see.

Let's not underestimate the power of bingo as it isn't just a fun activity. Researchers have found that playing bingo has a multitude of health benefits for the elderly. It supports listening and memory skills and promotes socialisation, which is essential to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle.

Charity Golf match for Dementia UK

It was a gloriously sunny, yet cold day for the 15 teams who turned out for the charity golf match at Moseley Golf Club to raise money for Dementia UK last week.

Fountains were delighted to support the event organised by Orton Media by supplying the goody bags.

The teams enjoyed a tasty bacon brioche roll before the shotgun start and a well deserved 2 course meal awaited them after 18 holes!

Dementia UK visited to thank the teams for their support and to talk about the amazing work they do for our communities living with dementia.

A fab day was had by all and fingers crossed the target of £1000 raised was smashed!
