Activities at Fountains Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Breakfast networking

What a great way to start the day - a cooked breakfast whilst networking with like-minded local experts.

That's how we started our morning yesterday at Fountains as we hosted LENS networking (Local Expert Networking)ran by Orton Media.

We all enjoyed a very interesting presentation from Ann-Marie of The Wilkes Partnership before finding out each others area of expertise.

Thank you to those that attended and to our kitchen team who came in especially early to ensure the breakfast was ready and delicious.

Congrats to Gail for winning the biz card draw.

St David's Day

Fountains residents enjoyed a Welsh themed dining experience to celebrate St David’s Day today.

Our home was filled with beautiful daffodils

and had everyone excited for spring.

Our wonderful kitchen team prepared a selection of delicious Welsh treats for all to enjoy.

We had Leek Soup to start, Traditional Welsh Cawl Stew for main and a second option of Welsh Onion Cake. For dessert our residents tucked into a Welsh Amber Pudding.

The food went down a treat and everyone enjoyed socialising with friends with a glass of wine too.

Happy St David’s Day to all that celebrated today!

Weekly sporting sessions

Fountains residents continue to enjoy their weekly sporting sessions with Chloe our instructor from ‘Everyone 4 Sport’.

Last week they took part in an inclusive Basketball class and had great fun together.

Chloe ensures that everyone can be a part of the session no matter what their abilities may be. Our residents love the classes as it’s an opportunity to share in the enjoyment with friends and be competitive together.

Pamper sessions

Fountains residents love relaxing and feeling pampered, thanks to our wonderful beautician Beauty at Home - Georgina Grace

Georgina provides beautiful manicures and hand massages, for both our male and female residents.

The sessions give everyone the opportunity to unwind, enjoy a chat and feel their best.

London Fashion Week

To celebrate the beginning of London Fashion Week, Fountain’s residents enjoyed a ‘step back in time’ to look at the history of fashion.

We admired the clothing designs from the 40’s 50’s 60’s and 70’s, enjoyed watching catwalk shows and took a look at some of the most iconic models from Twiggy to Kate Moss.

Our residents loved sharing stories on their favourite outfits and were amazed at the way the trends have come back around.

It was then time to get crafty, we enjoyed a creative afternoon designing our own outfits using paints, colours and a variety of materials.

We had a wonderful day reminiscing and created the most beautiful designs too. We certainly look forward to celebrating it again next year.
