Activities at Fountains Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Winners of our Pumpkin Carving Competition

A very big ‘Thank you’ from all of our residents and staff here at Fountains Care Home for the amazing pumpkins entered into our competition.

We shortlisted the entries to the best 3 as judging them was so difficult. We’re delighted to announce the winning pumpkin as the Halloween creation by Home Instead Solihull

We visited our winners to deliver their prize, which was chosen with their love of creating things together, as a team.

With that in mind they were excited to receive a ‘make your own advent calendar’ and a ‘make your own Christmas decorations’ Kit along with chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco. We’re so looking forward to seeing the finished result.

We would also like to congratulate our runners up who will be receiving a runners up prize shortly.

We had an entry whose contact details became wet and unreadable. if you made the fantastic light up spider pumpkin then please get in touch for your prize.

VIP visitor at Fountains

Saqib Bhatti MP for Meriden made a guest appearance at Fountains and delighted our residents and staff.

Saqib and his assistant Ali enjoyed a selection of home-made canapés on arrival before chatting with some of our residents before a tour of our lovely home.

While touring Memory Lane, Saqib observed a sporting activity by ‘Everyone for Sport’ with residents playing basketball, which showcased an innovative and inclusive activity as part of the Varied Life Enrichment Programme at Fountains.

Thank you for visiting us at Fountains care home and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future

Scrabble Club

Fountains’ Scrabble Club! The perfect way to enjoy some word game fun and an opportunity to socialise with friends.

Our residents love getting together in our café area for a competitive game over a cup of tea.

Scrabble has so many benefits from increased creativity, to strategy teaching, but most importantly, giving our new residents a chance to bond and get to know one another.

We look forward to welcoming more residents into our club!

Bonfire night

Fountains residents very much enjoyed getting into the spirit of Bonfire Night with a variety of themed activities.

We began with Canvas Painting with the wonderful Sue Cox. Our residents loved creating their Bonfire Night inspired designs using colourful paint and sparkles too.

Everyone enjoyed a relaxing art session and it got us really excited for the day to arrive.

To celebrate Bonfire Night we enjoyed a night of sparklers in the garden with delicious Hot Chocolate, freshly whipped cream, marshmallows and home-made S’mores.

It was a wonderful evening of fun and filled us with excitement for the future festivities coming soon.

Happy Bonfire Night to all of our community. We hope you had a spectacular and safe night celebrating.

Diwali Celebrations

Fountains residents throughly enjoyed celebrating Diwali with a mindfulness art session.

Diwali is a Festival of Lights and is enjoyed around the world.

Our residents enjoyed creating their own Diwali inspired art works, we had such fun discussing the festival and the way it brings communities together whilst creating their colourful designs.

Everyone was very proud of their art works and were delighted to be a part of the session.

Happy Diwali to our wonderful community
