Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Summer Fete 2024

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to join us for the Summer Fete on Saturday, August 24th. It was a fantastic day with fun activities, delicious treats, and great company.

There were plenty of games for everyone, like Hook-a-Duck, the Lolly Lottery, "Name a Bear," Sweets in a Jar, and even a Henna Tattoo stall. Our Tombola and Raffle were a big hit, with lots of fabulous prizes won.

Our lovely resident Joan set up a stall with her beautiful paintings, while another wonderful resident, Joan, showcased her handmade clothes, cards, and knitted items ,everything was fantastic..

We also enjoyed live musical entertainment from Champagne Enterprises, and our very own Kay, the activities coordinator, sang with them. It was wonderful and added so much fun to the day. A big thank you to Kay and Champagne Enterprises for making it so special.

Nisha Shaji, General Manager at Glebefields Care Home, said: "It was amazing to see so many people come together and enjoy the day. Our staff worked incredibly hard to make this event a success, and it was wonderful to see the smiles on everyone’s faces. We are very much happy to everyone who came out and supported us.''

Thank you again to everyone who made this day so wonderful.

We also had a playing games there and to top it all off, our lovely resident May won at tombola. Our residents had a fun time petting the horses, sharing stories with each other, and soaking up the sun. The picnic lunch was very tasty, and the laughter and smiles made it a truly wonderful sunny day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible. We are already looking forward to our next outing.

Regional Summer Party at Chacombe Park

On Tuesday, 30th July 2024, Glebefields Care Home family joined the celebrations at Chacombe Park Care Home - Barchester Healthcare for International Friendship Day. Residents, staff, and friends from nearby homes came together for a fantastic summer party, enjoying sunshine, a BBQ, a tiki bar, live entertainment, and garden games. Alan the saxophonist provided lively music, and everyone had a refreshing treat from the ice cream van.  A special thanks to the dedicated staff who volunteered to be put in stocks, creating a fun and special moment as residents threw wet sponges. The day was a great success, offering residents and staff a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and strengthen community ties. We look forward to the next opportunity to bring all our regional homes together.
