Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home
Fitness Fun with Alfie from G-Fitness!
Our residents had a fantastic time during their four weekly fitness sessions with Alfie from G-Fitness! They Eagerly participated in a variety of upper and lower body exercises to keep their wellbeing in check. David shared, "I know this will do me good," while Christine amazed us all with her stamina. Rod summed it up perfectly, saying, "That was fun and definitely beneficial!" Keep it up the great work, everyone!
Fashion Week at Glebefields Care Home!
This week, we've been getting creative and stylish as we prepare for London Fashion Week! Our residents have been busy making their own clothes boards, filled with pictures of outfits they used to wear or would love to wear now. From designing their own dresses to adding decorations, everyone has been sharing their ideas to create beautiful outfits for various occasions.
Our Admin Assistant, Dinesh, also joined in on the fashion fun! He happily designed the dress with the input of our residents. It's been a lovely moment filled with laughter, creativity, and lots of reminiscing about fashion through the years.
Scrabble Club Fun
We had another fantastic Scrabble Club session at Glebefields care home. Residents gathered for friendly competition and wordplay. Our residents Joan, Sheila, Ivy, and Pauline had a fantastic time at our Scrabble Club. It was a joy to see them engage in friendly competition while exercising their minds.
If you missed out on the fun this time, don't worry. Our Scrabble Club meets regularly, offering residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy this classic game together. Join us next time for more laughs and friendly competition!
Valentines Day
We celebrated Valentine's Day with a tea party at Glebefields Care Home - Barchester Healthcare. Couples, along with our beloved residents and staff, joined in the tea party.
Our manager, Nisha Shaji, presented the couples with Valentine's cakes and extended warm wishes to all. Chefs Bose Jose and Vincent Thomas prepared a delightful buffet treat for the occasion.
Everyone received Valentine's Day gifts from Glebefields, spreading love and joy all around. Our lovely couples Angela and Mick, David and Christine, Joan and Tony, and Rod and Jennifer expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the beautiful and happy moments shared and the warm wishes extended to them. Love was truly in the air.
Pancake Day Fun!
We had a celebrating Pancake Day with our team! Everyone, including both residents and staff, gathered together for some pancake flipping fun, and it was a joy to see everyone's smiles.
Our General Manager, Nisha, even challenged us to see who could flip the highest! Congratulations to Dinesh, our admin assistant, for achieving the highest flip! As we flipped our pancakes, we took a moment to reflect on the history of this tradition. Topped with our favourite toppings, everyone enjoyed their pancakes to the fullest!
Virtual Floral Workshop!
Glebefields had a great time with Kathryn Delve, a flower expert, over Zoom. She showed us how to make beautiful flower arrangements for Valentine's Day. We followed her lead and added roses and carnations to our creations. The online session helps us learn new things and also helps us remember what we learned before.
Kathryn said, "These workshops always bring me such joy. It's fulfilling to see people create something beautiful and find happiness in the process."
Our dear resident Ivy said, "Joining these sessions brings back nice memories and helps me get better at what I do. It's a special time for learning and practising."
We're proud of our displays and have placed them around the home for everyone to enjoy before Valentine's Day.
