Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Celebrating Carers Week

We had a wonderful celebration at Glebefields Care Home to honor Carers Week. Residents, families, and our dedicated staff came together to express our deep appreciation for the exceptional care provided by our carers.

The highlight of the event was the cake cutting ceremony, symbolizing our gratitude for the unwavering commitment and compassionate service of our carers. We enjoyed delightful tea and snacks while sharing heartfelt conversations and treasured moments.

Carers Week allowed us to reflect on the invaluable contributions of our carers, whose selflessness and dedication enhance the lives of our residents every day. We are proud of the caring community we have built, and our carers' tireless efforts inspire us all.

Let the Music Move You!

We had an unforgettable evening at Glebefields Care Home as the talented Vintage Ruby graced us with her soulful melodies. Her incredible voice, reminiscent of legendary singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, had us captivated from the first note.

But it didn't stop there! The power of music brought us all together as the rhythm took hold and the dance floor came alive. Everyone couldn't resist the urge to move and groove.

At Glebefields Care Home, we believe in the magic of music to uplift our spirits and create moments of pure joy.

A special thank you to Vintage Ruby for her soul-stirring performance that transported us to another era. We are grateful for the unforgettable memories and the sense of togetherness it brought to our community.

Home Library Services

We are delighted to announce that Glebefields Care Home recently had the privilege of hosting a visit from "Home Library Services Oxfordshire." This esteemed organisation generously provided our residents with a wide selection of free books, talking books, DVDs, and CDs for borrowing.

The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and joy, particularly for Cynthia, who faces challenges in reading standard books. The availability of large print options and a page magnifier sheet provided by Home Library Services Oxfordshire has truly elevated Cynthia's reading experience and will greatly enhance her quality of life.

A Serene Reading and Relaxation Retreat

Recently, Sheila and Christine found solace and inspiration within the pages of captivating books, immersing themselves in stories that transported them to different worlds. Meanwhile, Ivy, Cynthia, and Jean embraced the gentle ambience of our garden, basking in the serenity and allowing relaxation to wash over them.

We understand the importance of providing a space for residents to unwind and recharge, fostering moments of pure relaxation. It is during these tranquil times that our residents can find solace, rejuvenate their spirits, and simply enjoy the beauty of the present moment.

At Glebefields Care Home, we believe in creating a peaceful and homely environment for our residents, where they can indulge in their favourite activities and find inner tranquillity.

Captivating Melodies

Residents Barry, Ivy, Edith, Minnie, Cynthia, Helen, Stanley, and Marlene were treated to an exceptional musical performance by Justin Pate. With his remarkable guitar skills and soulful songs, Tristan created an enchanting experience that resonated with everyone in attendance.

The serene garden, adorned with vibrant flowers and surrounded by lush greenery, provided a picturesque setting for this captivating event. As our residents tapped their feet, embraced the melody, and embraced the peaceful atmosphere, they were transported to a place of tranquillity and joy.

At Glebefields Care Home, we appreciate the transformative power of music and nature in uplifting spirits and fostering connections. This memorable performance will surely be cherished by our residents for years to come.

Recycling Reverlations

We'd like to send a big THANK YOU to our wonderfully creative Head of Maintenance; Ricki Whitton for thinking out of the box and upcycling two discarded cast iron garden chairs, and an ornate bird cage to create these beautiful planters.

Each now standing proudly and popping with colour and plants to decorate the frontage of our home. We look forward to seeing the chair blooms grow, picking (and eating) the bird cage strawberries and chef is already overjoyed with the herbs! The Glebefields gardens, our residents and staff think you’re a star.
