Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Blooming Lovely!

Beautiful blooms! We'd like to send a big thank you to the Glebefields 'Flower Club' for creating this week’s table displays. They really are stunning and smell divine.

Village Hall Afternoon Tea

Having been invited to attend a 'talk' at the local Drayton Village Hall our residents set off with a spring in their step, unfortunately the speaker couldn't make it, so we invited some of the disappointed attendees to join us back at Glebefields for an impromptu quiz and afternoon tea before Scrabble club.

Our doors are always open, you ever fancy making new friends over a hot drink and homemade slice of cake or would like to join us at an event or activity please give Kay a call to find out 'what's on' at Glebefields in the coming weeks.

Pamper Time

Our residents received a little pampering this week courtesy of the lovely carer and parttime activity assistant, Snobia.

Giving hand massages and manicures provides quality time with each resident, they get to chat together with no distractions leaving our residents feeling relaxed and extra special.

Happy Birthday marvelous Minnie

Please join us in wishing 'Minnie' a very happy birthday.

Minnie is new to Glebefields, only joining us last week. It's been wonderful getting to know her, she's such a lovely lady, always up for a good conversation and making new friends.

Chef and the team presented Minnie with a freshly made birthday cake and, as we sang Happy Birthday even the local horses made an appearance to say hello and best wishes!

Lest We Forget

Leading up Armistice Day on the 11th and our Remembrance service on Sunday our residents created two large plaques to commemorate all those who have fallen to save us in the first and second world wars, and in subsequent conflicts across the globe.

We raised a glass of Sherry to those known, and unknown to us ‘WE WILL NEVER FORGET’.

Bonfire Entertainment

Over bonfire weekend our residents enjoyed creating colourful firework inspired art and reminiscing on large displays they’ve been to in the past and the fabulous firework parties they would have with the family in their gardens.

On Saturday afternoon we were treated to swinging songs from West End shows and storytelling by Fiona Harrison - A Voice in a Million our residents absolutely loved her; she was our very own firecracker in her bright red dress, she lifted all our spirits as high as the popping fireworks outside!
