Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home
Christmas Morning brings Santa
"Of course there is a Santa Claus, it's just that no single somebody could do all he has to do. So the he's spread the task among us all. That's why everybody is Santa Claus at Christmas time."
To spread the love among the residents we have our own Santa Claus, our amazing and wonderful maintenance lead; Ricki dressed up and delivered all the gifts hampers from the North Pole to our residents. With his little helpers; Angie, Snobia and Kay, Santa Ricki visited every resident bringing happiness and Christmas morning giggles. It was a lovely moment to see a smile on every face. We are proud to make our residents happy during this festive season.
Christmas Bingo!
What a wonderful day with lots of exciting gifts for residents. We all gathered together in the lounges for our thrilling Christmas Bingo Game. Residents were so happy to play the game as they knew that prizes were waiting for them. After finishing the one line the excitement to call out Bingo was awesome to see. All of them who participated also got prizes.
Rocking Around the Christmas Tree
Birthday boy Ray and his fellow residents at Glebefields were 'rocking around the Christmas tree' with Sparky & Sprite Entertainment as they provided us all with a fabulous performance!
Mark ‘Sparky’ Harding and Anne ‘Sprite’ Jeffery-Harding arrived in Christmas themed attire including jingle bells courtesy of Anne's regular ankle shakes.
With Christmas songs and classics from 1940’s, 50’s & 60’s we all knew, our lounge was alive with rock & roll, laughter and fun. They had us all tapping our feet and singing along, residents Minnie and Marlene were up and dancing within minutes!
Visiting Banbury at Christmas Time
There's nothing better than a day trip out to Banbury, Oxfordshire to see the festive decorations and grab a bite to eat!
Residents, Marlene, Marion, Pat, Bert, Ivy and Minnie put on their winter togs to step into town yesterday. It was a wonderful winter's day with the Christmas lights twinkling all around. We found many decorated trees and Banbury was buzzing with happy shoppers.
A super fish and chip lunch and steaming hot chocolate with fresh cream cakes to follow, the little group really enjoyed getting out and about.
It was lovely to meet so many new people and some old friends as they bumped into Senior Care Assistant; Piotr Piwowarczyk and his 6 month old daughter for lots of cuddles.
Thank you Team Glebefields for making it possible.
It's 'Snow' Good at Glebefields
"To appreciate the beauty of snowflakes it is necessary to stand out in the cold"
Today residents at Glebefields Care home enjoyed a small walk around the Care home to enjoy the snow. They were very happy to see snow all around the city. Marlene and Pam were happy and they said "That now they remember their childhood memories of playing with snow and also added that during their childhood the snowfall was much more than now and they miss those days. Thank You for bringing the memories back."
Christmas Theme Musical Dance
Musical festival, usually a series of performances at a particular place and inspired by a unifying theme, such as national music, modern music, or the promotion of a prominent composer's works. It may also take the form of a competition for performers or composers.
On Saturday 10th December, Glebefields Care home welcomed inspiring talents from Joanne Merry School of Dance who inspired our residents with their wonderful Christmas theme musical dance.
All our residents loved the performance of the little kids. Pam and Marion were so happy and excited to see the kids dancing.
