Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

World Pasta Day

World Pasta Day was brought into existence as part of the World Pasta Congress on the 25th of October in 1995. Experts from all over the world came together to discuss the glories of the noodle, with particular emphasis on the importance of spreading knowledge of the world’s panorama of pasta. This organization uses World Pasta Day to promote the eating of pasta, along with its cultural and culinary importance.

Here at Glebefields Carehome we celebrated the world pasta day in our own style. Residents participated and made different pasta flowers.Food days are simple and easy to celebrate, but they can come with a variety of layers as well. Look to these ideas for inspiration which our residents brought into place and celebrated their own way of World Pasta Day.

Harvest Festival Church Service

On Sunday our residents enjoyed baking bread to add to our Harvest Festival display. The aroma of freshly baked goods flooded the home during the harvest thanksgiving service.

Led by local Lay Minister; Lindy Bridgeman from St Peter Church, Drayton. We sang and gave praise to all the UK farmers and local growers across Banbury who work so hard all year round to provide us with home grown produce.
