Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

Celebrating life at Glebefields Care Home
Connecting and Caring in Our Community!
Today, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Callie Early, the inspiring founder of Ace Decluttering, to our professional breakfast network meeting!
Callie provides a wonderful, deeply personal decluttering and organising service. She lends an extra hand to busy families and offers gentle guidance to anyone feeling overwhelmed by a big task ahead.
It was truly moving to hear Callie speak so passionately about her clients. She supports people from all walks of life, including busy households and individuals navigating grief who just don't know where to start.
Callie also shared a personal story that hit close to home. Her own experience helping a family member search for high-quality residential and dementia care is what brought her through our doors today and we were able to signpost her to Barchester care homes in her families area.
At Glebefields, we host this professional breakfast every second month to connect, share stories, and strengthen ties with our incredible local professionals.
Thank you for joining us and inspiring us today, Callie!

Welcome to the Glebefields Care Home family, Nickie!
We are absolutely thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Nickie, who has joined us as our new Administrative Assistant!
With her warm, friendly face and lovely personality, Nickie is already bringing so much joy to our home. She is always ready with a helping hand and a big smile, and we are so delighted to have her on board with us.
Next time you are visiting Glebefields, please feel free to pop in to say hello, and give Nickie a warm welcome!
Successful Falls Prevention Talk at Glebefields
We were absolutely delighted to open our doors and welcome Raj Senniappan, Founder and Managing Director of Therapies on Thames, to our community hub for an incredibly vital Falls Prevention Talk!
Raj highlighted the incredible amount of hands-on time our dedicated carers spend with residents, all with the shared goal of delivering a better quality of life. He shed light on the stark realities of falls in older people, explaining how a fall can be witnessed or unwitnessed, and the massive impact it has on independence.
Did you know that falls are the leading cause of injury, resulting in over 220,000 hospital admissions last year alone? With each hospital stay costing an average of £15k, the economic and personal impact is huge. The session covered everything from the root causes of falls, such as footwear, clothing, and blood pressure issues and looked at practical solutions like improving strength and balance through targeted therapy. Raj even shared a fantastic tip about the power of a post-lunch nap to "recharge those batteries!" Crucially, Raj highlighted that regular exercise makes individuals a massive 50% less likely to suffer a fall and 40% less likely to succumb to serious injury.
He concluded by giving a heartfelt thank you to all the carers, nurses, and general assistants who attended and shared their experiences.
Our Community Hub is Open to All! At Glebefields Care Home, we love supporting our Banbury neighbours. Our community hub regularly hosts free events, workshops, and advice sessions just like this one. Keep an eye on our Facebook Page for upcoming Events.
