Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Light Exercise with Balloons

There's nothing more invigorating than a little light exercise with Kay. The residents of Glebefields had great fun passing the balloons to one another, and stretching with gentle upper body movements.

Flower Arranging Masterclass

Our residents have been treated to an interactive floristry masterclass courtesy of Kay our newly appointed Activities Coordinator.

During her extensive 12 years’ experience working within the care industry, Kay found time to set up her own mail-order dry flower floristry business. Today, she used her skills to demonstrate how anyone can create a floral masterpiece!

Kay explained step by step how she’d prepared the items, from pre-cut flowers to bushes and oasis filled terracotta pots. Each resident enjoyed choosing from an array of flowers and foliage. From Glebefields garden foraged greenery, to bright and fragrant, lavender, chrysanthemum and carnations.

One by one our residents started to select and build they potted creations. Only stopping briefly for a sip of tea and a biscuit!

Each were thrilled to see their individual creations come alive.

Kay looks forward to using more of her crafting skills to develop a varied and life enriching programme, that keeps our residents active; physically, mentally and socially.
