Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home

,

1 to 1 trips out

Since we’ve had such glorious weather this month we chose to take advantage and take a couple of our residents on special outings all of their own

Ian, went for a tour of his home town, where he showed us his childhood home and even, by chance, bumped into his Godson!

Deb, is our longest resident at Hagley and has hardly ever been able to leave the home, we managed to do a special trip to the Safari Park for her and her mum where Deb was able to enjoy all manner of animals.

Gardening Club

Today the weather finally relented and let us start our gardening project. Our aim is to turn an unused area of the garden into a relaxing spot to grow our own herbs, fruits and vegetables.

We started by planting our herbs and other plants in our standing flower beds. As you can see from the before and after pictures, it was an afternoon well spent. Thank you Hagley Gardeners!

At Hagley Place we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures.

PRIDE!

Friday July 28th, we had our very first Hagley PRIDE party, celebrating love and all things that make us unique. We were accompanied by 2 Drag artist from Shrewsbury PRIDE who entertained staff and residents alike.

Cello Player Visits

Music is for the soul. Everyone enjoys a song and a dance and what more beautiful instrument is there than the cello? One of our regular visitors offered up their services, and we were happy to accept! A beautiful day, listening to beautiful music.

Moor Park School Visit

We always love a visit from our local schools. This year we teamed up with Moor Park school so that we had weekly visits from them where they would play games, read, tell stories, bake and paint with our residents. It has been a beautiful joining of ages and one that has brought such joy to all involved.

Swing Ball

Off the back of our sunny days and detailing the importance of exercise and mental health we invested in a swing ball for our garden, as you can see it is having  a lot of use and creating some very fond memories.
