Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
Impromptu resident Garden Party
You have to act quick in this country if you want to enjoy the sun to its fullest!
Mocktails, cocktails and music took centre stage alongside sunhats and sun cream for an impromptu day in the Hagley Place Garden.
Mental Health Awareness Week
To show the importance of looking after our Mental Health, we spent a whole week, stimulating our minds and getting our endorphins pumping.
Daily puzzles and crosswords, exercise classes, singing and dancing along with good nutritional food and drink.
Boys Day out
We love finding new places to visit.
We took some our lovely chaps to visit Oswestry Iron Works this month. We saw giant iron sculptures of everything you could think of, and were treated to lunch overlooking their amazing works. They even gave us vouchers for future entry and an afternoon!
We went racing
Since we had a nice and sunny day, we decided to take advantage of the weather and take a few of our residents to the local racecourse for a day or horse racing. Whilst none of our residents won the big time, an enjoyable day out was had by all.
We Raised £1400!
On April 20th, we held a Charity Rounder’s Tournament along with 10 other teams from the Shropshire Care Sector. Although we didn’t bring back the Trophy, we raised a staggering £1400 for The Anthony Nolan Trust.
As you can see, it was a lot of fun, and we thank everyone who took part and showed us their support for a brilliant charity.
Charity Rounder’s Tournament
Hagley Place has organised a 10 team charity rounder's tournament to take place on April 20th 2024.
Each team is a local care home, domiciliary team or GPO surgery and each one will be raising awareness and funds for a different charity.
Hagley Place is raising money for the Anthony Nolan Trust due to the daughter of one of our team members needing a stem cell transplant to beat off her Leukaemia.
The event is being held at Ludlow Rugby Club, starting at 11am and running until the medal ceremony at 5pm
Tickets are £3 per person, with under 10's going free.
Beefy Boy Burgers, Pizza Girls and Divine Doughnuts are all in attendance, there's a bar, free parking and a bouncy castle.
Please contact us for more information, and we hope to see you on the day!
