Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home

,

St David's Day

Hagley Place residents celebrated the national day of all things Welsh this year with Welsh songs and hymns from Rachel Hyde. The party was a roaring success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it; Welsh residents even sang the Welsh National Anthem to the delight of everyone there.

,

St Patrick's Day Celebrations

Residents, staff and the public all got together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with Irish cream profiteroles, Guinness and Baileys. There was even a pitcher of green beer to try! The music was provided by Kitty Greenwood, who played traditional Irish jigs, and we even got up and danced to a few!

, ,

Snowmageddon

Staff members, Shann and James, braved treacherous conditions in a 4 x 4 to pick up staff who couldn't make it in due to heavy snowfall.

Our handyman, Ollie, also worked for 4 hours to clear a path for staff and emergency vehicles.

Painting Memories

Painting Memories

Painting has always been hailed as therapeutic and residents at Hagley Place are encouraged to participate in this wonderful activity through guided sessions. Each resident has their own unique story to tell and express through artistic means.

Two of our residents gave us a lovely look at their favourite memory of holidays expressed in their unique style.

Singalong Session

Singalong Session

Robert Burton came to lead us in a rousing singalong. There were all the toe-tapping favourites and everyone had a great time singing and dancing! What a wonderful way to spend a snowy and cold afternoon.

Valentine's Day

Hagley Place enjoyed a very romantic Valentine’s Day, with every resident receiving a fresh red rose and a heart shaped chocolate. There was a Valentine's-themed meditation session and lots of lovely treats to eat.

Residents were delighted to receive their roses & chocolates (even the men!) and one lady said it was so special, as she remembered her husband giving her a red rose as well.
