Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
Musical Magic
Residents at Hagley Place were taken on a nostalgia trip through the decades with Rachel Hyde, who came in to entertain us. She sang old folk songs from Ireland and tunes from Elvis and everyone had a great time, including the staff!
Pool Party
Residents at Hagley place cooled off with a pool party. There were lots of games to participate in and a delicious fruit platter. Even the staff had fun splashing around in the paddling pool!
Charity Book Sale
Staff from our home held a charity book sale where we raised money for the Barchester Charitable Foundation in our Barchy Bear t-shirts.
Community Engagement
Emergency services personnel often visited Hagley Place for refreshments whenever they are on break, and a local police officer can be seen above in our themed foyer, which we decorated for the royal wedding.
The Feeding of the Lambs
Hagley Place was full of joys when we had two bottle feeding lambs come to visit! Residents and staff alike fell in love with them and they even had little leads on so they could be taken for a walk! They went around the rooms to visit with less mobile residents and everyone remarked how wonderful and amazing it was to see real life lambs in a care home, with many residents reminiscing about their childhood on the farm.
Bugs, Bunnies & Beasties
Hagley Place saw the fluffy and weird coming in to visit; there were cute rabbits and guinea pigs, slimy snails and slippery snakes that amazed and delighted staff, residents and the public alike! The rabbit was taken to everyone's rooms and they were all delighted to see such a furry and friendly visit.
