Activities at Hempton Field Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Nina Mullerworth

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Nina and I have had the privilege of working at Hempton Field in my role as Activities Coordinator for over 15 years and I am looking forward to many more! I have enjoyed continually developing in the role with a variety of training courses, including a Level 2 NAPA and Aromatherapy Massage.

I love interacting with the residents and organising a varied programme of activities with a person-centred approach based on Barchester's Life Enrichment Programme of enhancing the wellbeing of mind, body and soul.  This includes ensuring residents can continue to enjoy hobbies, life experiences and keep active through exercise and music.  We are involved with local clubs and welcome in members of the community as well as a variety of outings in the minibus - these are always very popular!

St George's Day BBQ

St George's Day brought the sunshine, and an opportunity for our residents to dine outside and catch a few rays. Chef set up the BBQ and we had a jolly good time in celebration of our patron saint. No dragons aloud!

Holy Communion

We're very lucky at Hempton Field to have this beautiful quiet space. The conversion into two rooms early last year provided the home with an invauable 'visitor suite' enabling our residents and families to meet safely throughout the pandemic.

This week; Jackie and Margaret from St Andrews Church Chinnor used the room to provide a personal Holy Communion service to our residents. Resident; Elizabeth said "it’s so lovely to see them in person, we've enjoyed them on Zoom, but today was extra special".

The service went so well, Jackie and Margaret have scheduled to visit the resident group on a monthly basis from now on.

The Queens 95th Birthday Tea

To celebrate The Queens’ 95th birthday yesterday, several of our ladies gathered together to have a special tea party in her honour, with fine china, lovely sandwiches and tasty cakes.

Our residents are very patriotic and enjoyed chatting together about the Queens’ life, and sharing memories of seeing her at various royal events over the years. We send our love and best wishes to this very special lady; the head of the monarchy, who will always have our respect, and who we hold dear to our hearts.

National Chinese Writing Day

To celebrate 'National Chinese Writing Day' our residents took pleasure in requesting chef to cook them an authentic Chinese meal. Just look at their smiling faces... they absolutely loved it!

Rhythmic Morning Moves

This morning's exercise class with Nina our lovely ladies enjoyed waking their bodies to 'summertime tunes' and pom-pom shaking!

Farewell to HRH Prince Philip

In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh our residents took great pleasure in spending time to read and reminisce on his life, love for the Queen and all the good work he has done for our youth and the planet through his innovations.

We gathered together in lounges and rooms to pay our respects, watching the whole ceremony and raising a glass to say a dignified and beautiful 'goodbye and thank you' to the Prince. Rest in Peace - HRH Prince Philip
