Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home
Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.
Caroline Evans
Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.
I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.
I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home
Vintage Car Visit
We had a visit from an Austin A30. One resident, Alan, who is a huge car enthusiast, celebrated his 97th birthday recently, so we thought we would do something a bit different for him. He thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the car from its owner, and swapping stories about his previous vehicles.
School Visit
On the 18th June, residents were visited by the year one and two students of Hethersett Old Hall School. The children treated the residents to songs that they had been practicing for the ‘big sing’. The residents thoroughly enjoyed having a chat with the children, talking about what it was like for them when they were at school and what the children would like to do when they grow up.
Everyone had a lovely time and are looking forward to the next time they can enjoy each other’s company.
Cupcake Day
On the 14th June, we celebrated cupcake day, raising money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society. Residents, family members and staff all tried their hand at 'guess the weight of the cake' and other games. Staff dressed up in vintage clothing and lots of cupcakes were made, iced, decorated and eaten. It was fabulous day all around, with money being raised for a charity close to our hearts.
Employee Appreciation Event
We decided to hold an evening event to give a little extra appreciation to all of our wonderful staff members who go above and beyond every single day.
Our Activities Coordinator, Ariana, put a lot of extra hard work into creating a truly special evening. She made special voting cards, decorated the dining areas and designed a delicious menu for residents and staff to enjoy together.
Staff and residents have been voting for very special categories (some with a little humour involved) and staff were presented with their certificates and a goodie bag full of prizes and treats.
It was a lovely opportunity for staff to spend some extra time with the residents who live here. We all decided to tie in the event with a resident's birthday, which really added to the special feel of the night.
It was such a lovely evening and it’s always nice to give recognition to all the amazing people we have here at Hethersett Hall. Thank you to all the staff, residents and relatives who added to such a magical occasion.
Sealife Centre
Residents from Hethersett Hall enjoyed a trip to the Sealife Centre recently. Residents and staff had a lovely day together with lots of colourful and magical sea creatures. Smiles all around!
Royal Wedding Celebrations
Saturday 19th May was the day that the whole country joined together to celebrate the royal wedding.
Residents, relatives, staff and volunteers all decided to make this event even more special at Hethersett Hall by getting together for a ‘Royal Banquet’-style lunch.
Residents from our Memory Lane community and our residential community all made the most of the special occasion by celebrating with fine cuisine and even finer drinks. You could say that we dined like royalty.
With the weather being so nice, we also decided to take the celebrations into the garden and continued the fun outside.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
