Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Many thanks to Alex Southgate for his wonderful Christmas performance last week, the residents absolutely loved singing along, we look forward to seeing you in the New Year too!

Remembrance Day at Hilton Park

Gone but not forgotten. We had a beautiful week for Remembrance Sunday planting Poppy seeds, listening to songs sung by Amanda Scott, songs like ‘We will meet again’ and ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ and finally, watching the service together on Sunday.

A two minute silence was held for the men and women in service, those that have fallen, and those who continue to dedicate their lives to the service, we thank you. Here pictured are some residents who enjoyed a trip outside to scatter the poppy seeds, and who enjoyed a special live performance

Improving our game with our residents!

At Hilton Park, we are always wanting to improve the environment for our residents who live here.

This week, we have added an array of new board games in our beautiful lounge at Trinity House. Our residents enjoy our games afternoons and know where they are when they want to play on their own!

There is nothing better than some good old traditional board games.

Happy Hilton Halloween!

A happy halloween from us!

Treat or treat! Happy Halloween! We hope you've got a bucket of sweets in for the potential visitors this evening! We have been pumpkin carving and making halloween-inspired arts and crafts ready for what spooky treats await us later!

Our Resident turns 102!

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR RESIDENT Mrs.D who turned 102 last week! It is amazing some the stories our residents have of their past and there certainly is a lot when you are 102!

We had a small birthday celebration with all staff and other residents, a birthday spent well!

Hilton Park's Caricature Artist!

What a fabulous afternoon we had this week with Dave Lucas, a magnificent Caricature Artist. Dave sketched a number of our residents and the results were uncanny and rather comical! He'll be coming back as he was so popular, and we can't for his return. Here are some pictures of the brilliant day!
