Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hilton Park Care Home

Barchester Cake Competition
The residents spent time creating our Easter cake for the annual Barchester Cake Competition. They carefully placed decorations with the support of our activity staff. The outcome, from the colours and decorations we chose, made our residents very proud. John said, "I planned to just have a cup of tea and watch the others, I never imagined I would actually be helping. I've never done anything like this before, and it's actually really fun." Well done John for stepping out of your comfort zone, we’re really pleased you enjoyed yourself!

Happy Mother’s Day
Mother's Day Celebration! Being a Mum, Auntie, Sister, or Grandmother is a special role, and we appreciate all of you! We started our day by visiting individuals, giving our ladies some treats, flowers, and chocolates, making them smile on this special day. This afternoon, we gathered in the Atrium and enjoyed some live music by Kirsty, who sang a lovely song for us, as well as for our birthday girl Beverly on her special day. Thank you so much to everyone for joining us. We all had a lovely day.

Pancake Day
Celebrating Pancake Day with the lovely students from Bottisham Village College. We're having a good time flipping pancakes and reminiscing about the old days. Everyone is having a lovely time afterwards enjoying their pancakes with a cup of tea.

Calming Session
Today, we had a relaxing afternoon in our sensory room, offering hand and foot massages, aromatherapy, and playing soothing music for our residents. Some residents even fell asleep. We also introduced our therapy doll from the Alzheimer's Society, and Morwenna gave her the name Annabelle. One of our residents, Jacqui, said, “ This is Amazing, so relaxing”.

Happy Chinese New Year!
To mark today's celebration, we crafted our own dragon and began our day by visiting individual residents, performing a short dance with our dragon to surprise them. They even touched the dragon's head to bring luck around. In the afternoon, we gathered residents, families, and staff to watch the top 10 tourist spots in China and a traditional Chinese dragon dance, followed by a performance with our dragon. We savoured Chinese food prepared by our chef, Adriana, and opened fortune cookies to see our luck for this year. Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!

Valentine’s Day Celebration
Love is in the air at Hilton Park
We began our day by visiting individuals and our three couples in our communities, offering them refreshments to enjoy and taking photos to add to their sweet memories. This afternoon, residents, families, and staff enjoyed a live music performance in the Atrium by Debbie, who performed a selection of love songs. Residents, families, and staff joined in with the singing, waving, and clapping their hands and had a lovely time chatting and sharing some delicious homemade cake.
We all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
