Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Gunel Bayramova
Hello my name is Gunel and I joined Barchester team 2020 promoted to Activities Coordinator in November 2022
I love spending time with the residents and getting to know them on personal level, this helps me to support residents to participate and enjoy all the activities in the home. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Hugh Myddelton House and look forward to meeting you soon.

Life at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Keep on Moving
Here at Hugh Myddelton House we like to keep moving, we have regular seated excercise classess, music and movements classess and a group physio class.
Coffee & Pet Therapy
We are considered a nation of animal lovers. A dog’s silly antics and wagging tail can raise a smile, or relax us. Bailey has come for a visit to do just that. Have a cuddle and a coffee.
Contact the Elderly join us for Tea
Contact the Elderly is currently the only national charity solely dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people. Supported by a network of volunteers, the charity organises monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people, aged 75 and over, who live alone. Offering a regular and vital friendship link every month. Each older person is collected from their home by a volunteer driver and taken to a volunteer host for the afternoon. Tea parties are a real lifeline of friendship for our older guests who have little or no contact with family or friends. They bring people of all ages together, develop fulfilling friendships and support networks, and give everyone involved something to look forward to each month
We had 12 guests, who all gave their complements to chef for looking after them so well.
International Womens Day 2016
We had a wonderful time celebrating International women’s day.
We sampled food from around the world, as we watched a classical Indian dancer. Both our residents and staff were pampered with massages and we were decorated with henna. We had a lovely time and the residents and families were thrilled.
Flower arranging
Phyllis, one of our residents here at Hugh Myddelton House led a flower arranging class for some of the other residents. They did a fantastic job and their handy work was displayed around the home.
