Activities at Hunters Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Life at Hunters Care Home
Scrabble Afternoon
Scrabble afternoons at Hunters are always very popular and, at times, very competitive. Residents can spend a relaxing sociable afternoon whilst keeping the brain active and stimulated.
Mobile Shop
At this month’s residents' meeting, residents asked for a shop where they could buy toiletries and snacks. We responded by creating a mobile shopping trolley to go around the home to ensure that residents can buy what they need in the comfort of their own home.
Ukebox Jury
This week at Hunters we were entertained by the Ukulele duo Ukebox Jury, who treated the residents to an afternoon of classic songs and ukulele hits including the unforgettable George Formby.
Hunters Herald Newsletter
We've had lots going on at Hunters over the winter period. Please click here to see what we've been up to and what we've got planned for the rest of winter.
Folk Entertainment
We welcomed back country and folk singer Andy Yapp for the New Year. He entertained us all with traditional folk songs and classic country songs from Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
103rd Birthday!
This week one of the residents celebrated a very special birthday reaching 103 years of age. Four generations of her family came together to celebrate the day with birthday cake, wine and sherry, with the whole home invited to come along and join in on this very special occasion.
