Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Christmas Party at Hurstwood View
We all had fun and games at the annual Christmas party. An afternoon of singing some popular songs and plenty of carols was topped off with Mince Pies and Mulled Wine. It was great to send our Christmas wishes to everyone who attended.
Mince Pie Bake Off
We invited staff and family members to bake their best mince pies and enter them into the grand mince pie bake off. With a panel of five judges including staff and residents, each pie was studied on its presentation and taste. We are proud to announce that Helen took away the Golden Spoon for a second year running.
Christmas Tree Festival
Residents, family and friends enjoyed two separate trips to the local church where over 50 Christmas trees had been decorated and displayed. It was a lovely community event and great to see all the local school children their enjoying the beautiful trees too. It was an all rounded off with a cup of coffee and mince pie in the church hall.
