Activities at Kenwyn Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Kenwyn Care Home

Hydration and Nutrition Week

To celebrate hydration and nutrition week at Kenwyn, we hosted some fruit tasting sessions also facts and a quiz. There was lots of trying new fruits. Residents and activities staff learnt some facts and names for fruits we have never heard of before. Some residents also decided to have their fruit in smoothies or with yogurt.

Sports Relief Spectacular

For sports relief residents and staff here at Kenwyn took part in sports circuit events. Some of the events we took part in throughout the day included volleyball and competition weights event. Everyone had the best day laughing and having fun, everyone worked together in a team and singular events across multiple units.

There was also of course lots of tea, and cake, before some staff members had the honour of giving out certificates.

Celebrating 15 Years

We congratulated staff nurse Ela Wisniewska for her 15 years of service at Kenwyn. Well done!

Musical Therapy

We had a visit from Melanie’s Musical Therapies. In these photos, you can see residents enjoying the musical atmosphere.

Meet the Fawkes Family

Our residents had great fun, and worked hard creating guys for our “Build a Guy Competition”. They were judged by Kate Taylor, regulation manager and our own deputy manager Marie Wilson.

They both agreed that the guys were all amazing and decided that there would be a joint first prize, and joint runner up prizes.
