Activities at Kenwyn Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Kenwyn Care Home
Trevaskis Farm
Staff and residents recently enjoyed a trip to Trevaskis Farm. We all loved looking at the different animals and picking strawberries, whilst also making the most of the lovely weather.
Beach Trip
We've had some beautiful weather here in sunny Cornwall, so a beach trip was a must. Sand in our toes and ice lollies at hand!
Easter Donations
Our activities team donated the left over Easter goodie boxes to the kids on the children's ward of Treliske Hospital. We hope they like this Easter treat!
Snow at Kenwyn
We have recently had a downpour of snow. All the residents have enjoyed the winter wonderland!
Mother's Day
Residents at Kenwyn celebrated Mother’s Day with flower arranging and arts & crafts activities.
Staff arranged a tea party and a themed lunch and Head Chef, Joel Salunga, prepared a special menu of potato & leek soup, roast beef with all the trimmings, followed by apple and plum crumble to mark the day.
Carer Wins a Brand New Car!
A long-standing employee of Barchester has been rewarded with a brand new car for her participation in the company’s 2017 Employee Engagement Survey. Betty Verran, a Carer at Kenwyn, was presented with the keys to a Fiat 500 from Chief Executive, Pete Calveley, and Adrian Pancott, Chief Operating Officer.
Betty, originally from Truro, has been an employee of Barchester for the past 24 years, working evenings at Kenwyn since the official opening in 1993. Aged 70, Betty now works here alongside her daughter-in-law.
Barchester’s Employee Engagement Survey took place in November 2017, and was sent out to over 15,000 employees across all levels of the company to gather insight into what is important to staff and to measure and improve engagement.
Congratulations, Betty!
