Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!

Life at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day

We had a lovely gathering in reception, where we had Irish music playing all afternoon. There were plenty of Irish refreshments on offer, and some staff and loved ones even attempted river dancing, which made us all laugh. It was a fun-filled day!

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day

Staff all dressed up in red to raise money for Comic Relief. One carer even wore bright red lipstick all day. We also had a mobile bar and joke afternoon, and there was a lot of laughing throughout the day.

Pancake Day

Pancake Day coincided with our monthly birthday celebrations; 6 residents had birthday in March, so we treated them all to some delicious pancakes in recognition of their big days.

Andy Tee joined us and helped us celebrate with singing and dancing all afternoon.

As it was Shrove Tuesday, the celebrations didn’t end there; we had a lot of fun eating, tossing, and dropping pancakes. Everyone had a go and there was even a competition to see who could toss the highest and the most pancakes.
