Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Shannon Sing for Us

Shannon Sing for Us

Shannon came in to sing for our Valentine's afternoon, where we served all residents and their visitors a 3-course meal.

Balloon Modelling

Balloon Modelling

We were joined by a magician and had a wonderful afternoon watching him make balloon models for everyone.

Love is in the Air!

Love is in the Air!

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we invited in all of the families of residents to have a delicious 3-course meal, served by the team at Kingfisher, and accompanied with bubbly to celebrate. We followed the meal with after dinner mints and coffee, and had a lovely reminiscence session on the topic of love.

Dementia-Friendly Kingfisher

Kingfisher is a member of the Dementia Action Alliance and recently attended the annual Bath Dementia-Friendly conference. We set up a stall to speak about the great things that Kingfisher does to help those living with dementia. We have come back with lots of great new activities and ideas for the home.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthday Celebrations

Brian celebrated his birthday at Kingfisher with a homemade birthday cake and a party for everyone. Friends and family, as well as residents enjoyed the afternoon!

Bird Watching

Bird Watching

Kingfisher's tranquil gardens are perfect for attracting wildlife. We spent an afternoon making bird feed features ready for us to bird watch over the weekend.
