Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
George Tantrum
Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!

Life at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Say Yes to the Dress
We had a visit from one of our local community friends, who brought in various miniature porcelain dolls, all with such beautiful dresses. All of the dresses were handmade and we learnt how to do this ourselves.
...And Relax!
We decided that everyone needed some pampering at Kingfisher, so Mandy changed into a beautician outfit and gave us some foot massages to relieve the tension.
Feeling Floral
Our local florists came in to host a flower arranging session. All of our arrangements are now on display around the home. It was a great afternoon that was topped off with plenty of tea and cake!
A Wish Come True
At Kingfisher Lodge we have a wishing tree where every resident writes down a wish and the team at Kingfisher make that wish come true. Joan really wanted to go camping however with the weather so bad so the team at Kingfisher turned her room into an outside picture! All with a roaring fire on a tablet, hot chocolate and marshmallows and a canopy!

Bauble the Boss
To celebrate Christmas Jumper Day, the whole team and residents wore their best festive attire for the whole day in an effort to raise money for Save the Children. The main event was our General Manager being baubled, so every resident attached a bauble to Clare Sinclair, all in the name of charity.
Christmas Fête
Our Fête was a huge success; we had crafts and arts stalls, in addition to a tombola and a raffle. To follow, we had some mulled wine, mince pies and a festive buffet for residents, families and guests to enjoy.
