Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
George Tantrum
Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!

Life at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Wear it Pink
To raise awareness and money for breast cancer, we all dressed up in pink, ate all pink-themed foods and hosted a pink raffle. It was a great day and all in aid of a good cause, which made it even better.
1920s-Themed Open Day
For our open day in October, we had a 1920s theme, and everyone had to dress up in the appropriate attire. We had a live vocalist singing songs from the '20s, along with plenty of wine flowing throughout the afternoon with sweet treats and cheese platters.
Music for the Mind
Every fortnight, we join in with the local Music for the Mind group, which is set up by Keynsham Dementia Action Alliance. We had a great morning of music, with tea and cake to follow!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for a fantastic cause. Residents, staff and families all joined in with eating cake, the raffle and quizzed. We raised £83 in total!
Horticultural Session
'Alive' hosted a horticultural session at Kingfisher Lodge. Great fun was had by all as we planted pansies and made lavender bags. We even got to keep all our creations!
Memory Walk
We decided that we wanted to take part in a memory walk to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. All residents and the team who wanted to raise money walked around the grounds in the drizzly rain and every member of staff on that day sponsored a resident. We raised just under £80!
