Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kings Park Care Home
The Chitter Chatter Club Launch Party!
Recently at Kings Park, we welcomed members of our local community, healthcare professionals, journalists and community group members to get together with some of our residents, for a very special launch event...
Anne Anderson, who recently linked in with ourselves, Parley Place Care Home - Barchester Healthcare and Hyacinth House Care Home - Barchester Healthcare in order to launch a special community cafe, The Chitter Chatter Club page, in a bid to combat loneliness in our communities, arranged this special event to promote these sessions in Barchester Healthcare homes in the Dorset area.
So the launch was all about promotion to get the word out to those who need these events the most.
Sadly, due to a last minute medical issues, Anne, the lady of the moment, was unable to make the event, but sent us a wonderful video message in her absence.
Anne, we all send you our love and best wishes and know that the wonderful people who came along will now go forth and promote our events to help more and more people in our area.
It was very well supported and a BIG THANK YOU to all who attended.
'Loneliness brings us together, NOT apart!' - Anne Anderson

Best Buddies!
The incredible students from Ferndown First School were back again recently for a spot of reading with our residents...
After only a short time, the children really came out of themselves, becoming more and more animated as they became more and more confident.
Isn't it amazing how much joy and wonder they bring into our home? Everyone really enjoys these sessions and get so much from them.
Thank you all for another wonderful afternoon.
See you all again very soon!
Topping off the Tree!
With a LOT of festive decorating to do over the next couple of weeks here at Kings Park, the team here have made a start already...
Residents are loving the pops of colour which are starting to appear around the home and one lovely resident was given the honour of 'topping off' the first of our Christmas trees.
Here's the very delighted Audrey as she places the star atop the beautiful tree in our foyer, with a little help from our Activities Lead, Claudia.
Her face says it all...
Have you started your Christmas decorating yet?
We made the Press!

Radio Coverage: The Chitter Chatter Club
Our Home Services Advisor was up with the larks recently as she headed into work early for her radio appearance on BBC Radio Solent's Breakfast Show...
Rebekah was asked to give an interview about the benefits of being able to host The Chitter Chatter Club page here at Kings Park and what this means for both the residents as well as those who we welcome into our home on a regular basis.
Founder of the Chitter Chatter Club, Anne Anderson, who encouraged and supported us to get the club up and running in the home, was up first. Anne did a marvellous job explaining why the clubs are so important.
Anne's segment is found at approx. 10 mins and 30s in.
Later on in the show it was Rebekah's turn to showcase what the home are doing and is found at approx. 1hr and 10 mins in.

The Green Room Remembers...
Here at Kings Park Recently, we were delighted to welcome our friends, Sasha & Wendy from The Green Room, for a wonderful performance...
This delightful duo took us back to yesteryear with a wonderful show, acknowledging the war and the fallen and acted out some funny, yet heartfelt and emotional moments as they took us back to times gone by.
It was the perfect show, using a mix of music and memories, as some of our residents were transported back to their youth, as they remembered days gone by.
Pausing for some poetry and a short moment of reflection for those who fought, they ended on a lighter note, as they got everyone singing and waving their union jacks.
Thank you both for such a wonderful show, done in such a considerate and thoughtful way - It was the perfect balance.
We look forward to seeing you both again very soon!
