Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lancaster Grange Care Home

A countryside trip

A lovely afternoon of countryside drives, around our surrounding villages.  Residents are always given the choice of their outings & this was a meaningful outing, enjoyed by all.  We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery & the history that surrounds us in Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire.

September words

This morning at Lancaster Grange, we began the day with our September monthly magazine from Daily Sparkle a valuable resource. Judy proudly reads a poem September Words by William Wordsworth.

Betty proudly talking about her days in the Womens Institute, Jam & Jerusulum.  We are looking forward to the rest of the magazine & interesting facts about September.

Enjoying day trips

Two meaningful minibus journeys with our residents recently… A pleasant trip to the village of Dry Doddington, which brings Ros back in time, to the village where she was raised. Our residents really appreciated a trip to the East Bridgeford Garden Centre for essential shopping & delicious coffee & cake. A place that also brought happy memories back for our residents.

Celebrating Beatrix Potter

We celebrated Beatrix Potter’s Birthday in our Coffee shop here at Lancaster Grange. Our residents enjoyed homemade Carrot Cake that they made in cookery club, along with listening to storytelling of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle duck tales.

We used the activity book provided by Oomph Wellness a fantastic tool in finding out all about Beatrix Potter & her life.

An afternoon with Farndon WI

We were pleased to welcome a ladies' choir from Farndon WI yesterday afternoon.

Jen, one of our residents, was thrilled to see and hear her friends perform at Lancaster Grange. Jen was a proud member of the ladies choir, and happy to be with them all once again. Our residents really enjoyed the music and enthusiastically sang along.

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
