Activities at Latimer Court Care Home

Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.

Life at Latimer Court Care Home

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

Several residents enjoyed an afternoon of poppy making ready for Remembrance Sunday.

St Peter's Church Garden Centre

On Thursday 14th September, four residents enjoyed a trip to St Peter’s Garden Centre in Worcester to see the autumn display of colourful flowers, shrubs, bedding plants and to purchase a selection of spring bulbs to plant in pots for our garden. They all loved the outing and were laughing and joking there and back on the minibus.

Worcester Woods

Worcester Woods

On Thursday 8th September, two residents enjoyed a walk in the fresh air at Worcester Woods. The woods are local to Latimer Court and are a lovely opportunity for residents to see the seasons changing and to enjoy a cup of tea in the lovely café.

Vintage Garden Party

On Sunday the 20th August, we held a Vintage Garden Party. The weather was not on our side on the day, so we dressed up the family room as a tea room with vintage bunting and decorations and vintage china on each of the tables and put out jam jars of fresh flowers. A table of vintage craft items for sale, a table top sale and a tombola finished off the effect and a pianist played some live music for us throughout the event.

We were overwhelmed with the number of residents, loved ones and members of the local community who attended, along with the Mayor & Mayoress of Worcester. In fact, we had over 100 attend!

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon – especially the cream tea with finger sandwiches, with no crusts in sight – and the home received some lovely compliments. The event was so popular that we will be hosting another similar event in the future!

Exotic Fruit Tasting

On Tuesday 29th August, residents enjoyed trying a mixture of tropical fruits. Some of these were familiar, some were not and were met with curiosity! The platters contained melon, pineapple, blueberries, fresh coconut, mango, dates, cape gooseberries, pomegranate, passion fruit and lychees. The dates and mango were definitely the favourites! This is the first of many food and drink tasting sessions for residents to enjoy.
