Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Chloe Cameron
This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Harvest Festival Donations for All Saints Church
We’re incredibly proud of our amazing activities team, Kim and Teri, who took Joan this morning to donate some of the wonderful harvest food handed in at the Harvest Service yesterday at All Saints Church!
Lawton Manor is honored to be part of such a supportive and generous community. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to raising these vital items for the Food Bank in Alsager. Your hard work and kindness truly make a difference!
Halloween Crafting
Our residents Joan, Bryan, Barbara and Doug got their creative hats on with our crafting session for Halloween, which meant we all got the chance to paint some pumpkins! We got decorating ready for our pumpkin competition, using paint sticks to put our fine motor skills to the test.
Painting these intricate designs onto our pumpkins also gave everyone the chance to use their imagination for the spookiest, most creative pumpkin! Of course, we did it all with tea and cake right alongside us. Lots of fun was had by all.
Baking for our Well-being
We recently put our pinnies on and got our rolling pins out ready for our weekly well-being session! We try and do these baking sessions for our mental well-being each week, as our residents find them very therapeutic and a nice distraction.
We all loved baking our cupcakes, decorating them, and of course eating them afterwards! With the Halloween season coming up, we decided to make ghost shaped shortbread and used icing to decorate them to keep them white. We also rolled out some marzipan to put a finishing touch to our cakes. Baking is something a lot of our residents hold close to their heart, so baking sessions are always enjoyed by all!
Residents and Local Nursery Bury Time Capsule
Excitement was in the air at Lawton Manor while our residents and staff waited patiently to greet our special guests. Residents got to meet children from ages 1 upwards from local childminder group, Peas in a Pod, who helped us with our exciting event of burying a time capsule at our home! It was amazing to see everybody making new friends and the two generations coming together before the big event.
We were also lucky enough to have our local Mayor of Alsager, Cllr Jane Hearne join us for the big moment! We all loved digging the hole, burying our time capsule with all of our memories in it. We included newspaper clippings, pictures made by the children, and stories about our home and residents that we cannot wait to dig back up in 10 years' time!
Let’s get Baking!
This Month, We got our Hands and Aprons Dirty with our all new Baking Club! Residents all gathered in our communal café ready to bake homemade vanilla and chocolate cupcakes for everybody to enjoy. Residents Elaine, Joan, Michael & Sheila enjoyed sharing baking experiences and tips, while enjoying the company of good friends. Elaine said ‘ I think the baking club is a fabulous idea, it takes me back, to when my children where young children. We would bake quite often, making sweet treats and savoury plates of food for the family. Now I can enjoy baking for my newfound friend and family! How wonderful’
