Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Reptile Fun at Lawton Manor

This afternoon, we had the fantastic M.A.D Reptiles come to visit us, bringing with them an incredible assortment of snakes and even a bearded dragon.

Residents and staff had an amazing time getting up close to these amazing creatures. We even had the chance to hold them, experiencing all the different textures and sensations!

We loved every minute of this and can not wait to have MAD reptiles back again. Thank you so much for such a unique and memorable experience!

A Heartfelt Connection across the Generations

Teri, one of our wonderful activities team members, has been working with the local school, Reginal Mitchell Primary School, and together have come up with the amazing and thoughtful idea of writing Christmas letters for each of our residents!

With the help of our special little elves and activities team, we individually produced hand-written letters which we handed out.

It brought pure joy and heart-warming smiles to each and every resident. Huge thank you to everyone involved for making it such a special experience!

Christmas Gifts

Christmas magic has arrived at Lawton Manor!

We had Santa himself delivering gifts to all of our wonderful residents. Being able to see the joy and smiles light up the whole room was something magical.

Giving is what we love most and moments like this make us very grateful for all we have. Santa made his journey, room to room, spreading Christmas cheer to all!

We carried on our celebrations with festive drinks, followed by a quiz with our loved ones!

Remembrance Sunday

We gathered together for a heartfelt two minutes of silence, honouring all those who fought and gave their lives for our country.

With a glass of sherry in hand, our residents and staff stood together in remembrance, showing incredible support on this important day.

We were delighted to have The Bikers stop by for a special visit with Ivor.

They shared a warm cup of tea and spent time chatting about the importance of Remembrance Sunday, making the morning even more memorable.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed afternoon tea together, sharing memories and stories of those we’ve lost on this unforgettable day.

The spirit of remembrance filled the room, reminding us of the courage and sacrifices made by so many.

Lest We Forget, We Will Remember Them.

Flower Arranging

We enjoyed a wonderful flower arranging session!

Our residents created beautiful bouquets, and then we handed them out to those who couldn’t join us outside their rooms.

Michael did the honours of delivering each arrangement, spreading smiles, warmth, and love to every resident.

Ann even kept tickling Michael along the way, adding extra laughter to the day!

Barbara, Joan, and Ann especially loved the fresh, beautiful smell of the flowers.

Gentlemen's Day at Lawton Manor

Today, we celebrated Gentlemen’s Day in style!

Our wonderful gents were treated to pamper sessions, including haircuts and beard trims, courtesy of the talented Scott from Scott's Barbers, Butt Lane.

Scott worked his magic, creating a relaxing and refreshing experience that left everyone feeling their best.

It was a chance for our gentlemen to sit back, unwind, and enjoy some well-deserved attention.

We want to say a big thank you to Scott for taking the time to do this for our gentlemen. It’s always heart-warming to see such kindness and care in action.

We appreciate all the amazing gentlemen in our home and wanted to remind them just how special they are.

Days like this are all about making memories and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces!
