Activities at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Kimberley Calvert
Hi my name is Kimberley, Senior Activities Coordinator, and here at Leeming Bar our life enrichment programme is varied, providing choice for our residents and incorporating their interests and hobbies. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within Leeming Bar, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents, and their families and friends.

Life at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
National Ice Cream Day
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
Residents have a whale of time
Residents from Leeming Bar Grange care home in Leeming Bar had we had a 'fintastic' time at Sea Life Scarborough to mark Shark Awareness Day! Residents, loved ones & the team enjoyed a day of aquatic adventure, with lots of interesting facts to sink their teeth into regarding an array of majestic sea-creatures, seals, & penguins!
Residents were able to spend the day at the aquarium, and enjoyed a packed lunch and snacks provided by the homes hospitality team overlooking the sea, and of course had a jolly sing along on the homes mini-bus
World Chocolate Day
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Leeming Bar Grange care home in Leeming Bar had a fantastic time celebrating World Chocolate Day on July 7, surely one of the best days of the year!
There sure was a choco-lot of fun as residents, loved ones & the team were transported to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory to indulge in an array of chocolatey delights! Oompa Loompa Robbie was on hand to make sure everyone sampled the delicious sweet treats visiting residents throughout the home.
Dogs Trust
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.
Happy Father's Day!
Today we celebrate our wonderful father's & father figures in the home with a delicious traditional lamb roast dinner with all the trimmings, shandies galore, and a Yorkshire themed afternoon tea in the homes garden
Accordionist Alan Chandler played jolly ditties as we enjoyed some ‘reet’ tasty treats! Including a selection of pork pies from the local butchers; from Pork & Mushy Pea, Pork & Piccalilli, and Pork & Marmalade! Followed by sweet treats such as Fat Rascals, Yorkshire Tarts, & a selection of locally sourced sponges
Whilst celebrating our gents in the home we also took time to reminisce fondly of the important men who have been a part of our lives

Summer Shindig!
We marked the Summer solstice with a day of colourful merriment!
Pete Goldup - The Silent Disco DJ joined us for another fun-filled silent disco; playing all the holiday hits of the decades to get residents singing their hearts out & showcasing the fanciest of footwork! Gallone Ices Bedale made the day even sweeter with the most delicious ice creams complete with chocolate flake & syrup..a perfect way to welcome in the Summer!
