Activities at Leonard Lodge Care Home
Our activities team offer a wide range of social events, from the very popular Friday morning bingo, to gentle exercise sessions, skittles, regular animal visits and arts & crafts sessions. We are fortunate to have a team of volunteers who stop by weekly to provide additional support, allowing residents the opportunity for one-to-one sessions. These sessions could include anything, even something as simple as playing a game of Scrabble or just having a cup of tea and a chat. We believe that it is essential to support people in such a way that they are able to continue to live full and happy lives doing the things that they enjoy.
Lynn Amiri
My name is Lynn and I lead the Activities Team here at Leonard Lodge.
Since working at Leonard Lodge I have dedicated myself to ensuring that each of our residents can continue to partake in the hobbies that they have enjoyed for years. It is important that all of the residents here have access to life enriching, fun and social activities.
The whole home supports my team and I to organise activities, events and entertainment tailored to every residents preferences, abilities and needs. Each year we have a fantastically full calendar, and we look forward to the future when we can invite the families of residents to join us in the home again.
I am married with two children and two rather annoying rescue cats. I lived in Italy for a number of years and love all Italian food, especially when somebody else cooks it for me! I love to read, especially crime novels. I am a regular theatre goer with a passion for musicals. I like to sing and dance (albeit badly!).

Life at Leonard Lodge Care Home
General Manager of the Year
Tibi Ionescu has been crowned 'General Manager of the Year' at the Barchester Care Awards 2017.
Tibi was appointed General Manager of Leonard Lodge after it had been given a 'Requires Improvement' rating by the CQC and, in a short space of time, has turned the home around, so much so, that, at it's last CQC inspection, it was given an overall 'Good' rating! He has earned the respect of his whole team and has shown he's willing to do all that it takes – even personally working nurse shifts!
Volunteers at Leonard Lodge
We were joined by volunteers from Ford Credit Europe for a day of Christmas tree decorating, mug painting and creating decorations. Residents had a great day; we have some excellent decorations and we think Ford's staff enjoyed it as well.
We've got a brand new look!
We celebrated the opening of our newly-refurbished Memory Lane community with a garden party. There was a falconry display by Eden Falconry, entertainment with Billy Blue Rondo and cheese and wine, but everybody agreed that the star was the newly-refurbished unit.
Hopefield Animal Sanctuary
Residents enjoyed a trip out to Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood. We were given a tour by volunteer Devon who was able to answer all our questions and showed great enthusiasm for her role. The residents particularly enjoyed stroking the Angora ferret. We finished the visit off with a well earned cup of tea.
Country & Western Summer Party
On 1st July, we welcomed Bonnie Diamond and Co. to Leonard Lodge for our Country and Western Summer Party. The weather was warm and the company was great, but the entertainment was even better. Residents enjoyed wearing an array of cowboy hats and we danced and sang along.
Leonard Lodge Hen Party
Before going off to get married, Memory Lane Senior Carer, Christine, allowed us to dress her up and parade her around the unit, much to the delight of residents, who thought it was a real hoot. Best wishes to Christine and Tim for a long and happy life together.
