Activities at Lydfords Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Elf Day - Friday 3rd December

The team at Lydfords Care Home in East Hoathly have swapped their uniforms for costumes today - National Elf Day (Friday December 3) in an effort to raise funds to help people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising towards finding a cure for dementia. From stripy socks to head-to-toe elf outfits, anything goes – there’s snow better way to raise money to help beat dementia.

Mince Pie Masterclass

Our residents had fun having a mince pie making masterclass with Lydfords Chef, Enrico.
They got into the festive spirit and made themselves some fabulous mince pies, and lots of fun was had reminiscing about cooking with their parents and grandparents and finding the sixpence in the Christmas pudding.
Once baked to perfection, they enjoyed their handy work with a well earned pot of tea.
