Activities at Lydfords Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Carole Hierons
Hello, my name is Carole and I am the Activities Lead here at Lydfords.
I have worked in this role for many years and I would not to do anything else.
My job is to plan and oversee the amazing life enrichment activities and trips for all of our residents. It is such a rewarding role and I love planning and doing crafts with everyone.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Flower Arranging
One of our residents is a keen gardener and flower arranger. Lydfords was looking like a florists with all the beautiful blooms and lovely displays!
One to One Activity
Residents at Lydfords spent time one to one with the team, Scrabble and card games are always popular choices here!
International Flower Day
Today was International Flower Day, and thanks to Waitrose Uckfields kind donation of these beautiful flowers, some of Lydfords residents spent a couple of happy hours making these gorgeous floral displays.
Employee of the month December 2021
Senior Carer Ellie has been awarded 'Employee of the month' for December 2021.
She was nominated by colleagues for her enthusiasm and involvement for all things 'Activity' in the home, and for being our very own Mrs Christmas and getting everyone into the Christmas spirit over the festive period!
Congratulations Ellie!
