Activities at Lynde House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.
Gitana Norvaisiene
Gitana Norvaisiene is our Life Enrichment Coordinator. She oversees and organises all social activities within the home. Although Gitana only recently took up the Coordinators role she was previously a carer at Lynde House. Within her first year she was honoured with being shortlisted at the National Barchester Awards in the category of Activities Coordinator of the year and also won with her team of residents and local school pupils the Barchester In Bloom best Flower display

Thank you to our Volunteers
We have had a long association with Volunteers at Lynde House both students looking for work experience before embarking on their studies or in many instances volunteers who have the time to spend with our residents on a regular basis. Their support for our residents and Lynde House is always greatly appreciated by us all. Here are just a few examples of what they get up to!
A Stroll in the Park
Despite the weather, a stroll to Marble Hill Park the other day was just what the doctor ordered. Friendship, conversation and just being in such a lovely environment. Great to have some relatives joining us.
Skittles
One of the many activities on offer for residents at Lynde House and ever popular is Skittles. Good for concentration and upper body toning... and competitive too!
Hairdressers
Each week Clare, our professional hairdresser visits Lynde House. Her arrival is eagerly awaited by many residents since not only do they have their hair styled but also enjoy a good natter over a cup of tea or, on occasions, a sherry.
Annies Nest Nursery
What a lovely day we had with the young pupils of Annie's Nest Nursery on one of their regular visits to Lynde House. The fun task of the day... Arts and Crafts!
International Nurses Day
A huge thank you to our Lynde House nurses on International Nurses Day. A fabulous team and an amazing celebratory cake courtesy of our Head Chef Rodolfo.
