Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Employee of the Month - November
Christina Mwenya, Head of Care at Marriott Lodge, was named Employee of the Month in November 2017.
Staff, residents and visitors nominated Christina for the award for a variety of reasons, including her friendly and helpful approach to her work, her dedication to the role, the ability to lead and work well within a team and, of course, her caring attitude!
Well done, Christina!
Christmas Community Quiz
On Thursday 14th December, we held our monthly community quiz with a Christmas theme. This was attended by staff, residents and visitors and the winning team is pictured above. Well done to all who joined in!
Fishbourne Church Choir
On Wednesday 13th December, some of the members of Fishbourne Church visited us and performed a carol concert. Residents, of course, enjoyed this very much!
Central School Choir
Central School Choir visited Marriott Lodge on Tuesday 12th December. They performed an amazing carol concert, which was enjoyed by many! Residents particularly enjoyed being able to give them gifts to say thank you at the end of the performance.
Cedar Ministry Christmas Visit
Marriott House and Lodge continues to have monthly visits from Cedar Ministry. These services are always well-attended by residents and visitors.
Cedar Ministry started visiting the home on the first Sunday of every month back in 2012. They are a team from Chichester Baptist Church who visit local care homes in the Chichester area. It is their aim to share God's love and serve people in local care homes.

Christmas Concert
On Friday 8th December, we were treated to a Christmas concert by a group of students from Chichester University. It was an amazing concert by some very talented individuals. After the performance, the students had made some homemade gingerbread and we all enjoyed afternoon tea together! Intergenerational activities are very important to the residents at Marriott House and Lodge, so we hope these links will continue in the future.
