Activities at Meadow Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Meadow Park Care Home

,

Dementia Action Week

We played some rookie golf with the Royal Voluntary Services, had a music therapy session and reminisced about the '80s during Dementia Action Week.

Out & About

Out & About

Residents enjoyed a shopping trip out to the local supermarket. They always loved spending time in our local community.

,

Rookie Golf

Residents enjoyed two full hours playing golf for the first time and look forward to a rematch.

,

Keeping the Mind Active

We were joined by a singer from Mind Active, who brought her accordion player with her to entertain residents.

Al Fresco Fun

Al Fresco Fun

Bob and Mina made the most of the weather at Meadow Park by eating in the garden.

These small things mean a lot to residents. Bob said this reminded him of days travelling across Europe in his caravan with his wife and eating outside regularly, specifically in Switzerland, one of their favourite places. He enjoyed talking about it with Mina.

A Double Celebration

Senior Carer on nights, Vivienne Thomson, received a commemorative badge and £250 vouchers in recognition of her 10th year at Barchester, and was also nominated for and won our Employee of the Month award for November, receiving an extra £25 worth of vouchers.

Staff said that Vivienne is very supportive to her team and very caring towards residents. She will help out during the holidays and will come in earlier if needed, without complaint. Viv also received a larger bouquet of flowers and a certificate recognising both of her achievements.
