Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Veena's trip to the local temple

Veena asked if she was able to attend a temple as this is something that means so very much to her so we arranged a visit to the temple in Southampton and she was accompanied by Senior Carer Samikshya who came in traditional wear which Veena really loved. Veena felt more comfortable with the attire as well as they both follow the same rituals and religion.

Special rituals and puja was going on in the temple so Veena joined in the rituals and then worshipped to the different gods present in the temple after the puja. They also recieved prasad as a blessings from the official members of the temple after the puja.

After returning back Veena said it was a long drive but it was worth it as I got to visit a lovely temple and meet many Hindu people there as well.

Both Veena and Samikshya enjoyed visiting the temple and worshipping there which they regard as a very important part of life.

Trip to local garden centre

Residents Veens, Rita and Pam enjoyed a trip to the local garden centre whey they got to have a good look around at the plants and pick some to be planted into the gardens here. They finished off their trip with a stop at the coffee shop to enjoy a rather large piece of cake and coffee.

Rita said it felt like being back at home coming to the garden centre as this is something that she used to always do.
