Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.

Life at Mount Vale Care Home
A virtual trip to Donkey Sanctuary
Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester. Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care. They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide. The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
Music from Matt Jones-Green
We had Matt Jones-Green come in once again. Our Residents love him and the array of music he plays. One of our carers, Opie, was enjoying the music so much he was chair dancing with residents and even got a few up dancing with him. We all had a great afternoon.
Jack, the Therapy Dog visits Mount Vale
We had ‘Jack’ come to visit us here at Mount Vale. Jack is one of many therapy dogs from ‘Therapy dogs nationwide’. Jack was a huge hit with our residents and sat very patiently while everyone game him cuddles.
Therapy dogs have been proven to improve general health and wellbeing, movement and coordination which is why we include them into our activity schedules here at Mount Vale. We also have Bambi who comes into work with Becky, our Activities Coordinator, so all of our residents are familiar with her and look forward to her visits.
Bonfire Night at Mount Vale
We had a great evening with family and friends at our annual Firework display.
We feasted on Soup, hot dogs, jacket potatoes and chocolate Bonfire cake. Once it got dark, we settled back into our comfy chairs to watch the fireworks and watched the magnificent display. Everyone agreed it was a great evening.
Sticky fingers
We are very lucky to have such great links to our local community, and Rosedene our local children’s nursery. We enjoyed a trip over to see the children and helped them bake and decorate cupcakes. The children were adorable and loved chatting and showing off how good their cupcakes were. Our Residents had great fun, even though a little sticky!
