Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.

Life at Mount Vale Care Home
Nursery pay a visit
We had a visit from the children at Rosedene Nursery today in aid of ‘Blue Monday’. The children brought a beautiful hamper full of treats for our Residents to make them smile. It truly did make them smile, our Residents were thrilled.
102nd birthday celebrations!
Marian celebrated her 102nd Birthday yesterday. She loved her Flowers, Balloons and huge cake made by our Chef Dan.
Marian had a lovely afternoon tea along with Residents.
Magic table fun at Mount Vale
We are still in the festive spirit here at Mount Vale with a magical afternoon using our Magic Table.
The Magic Table uses interactive games to connect residents with staff and with each other, and research shows it improves the wellbeing of people living with dementia.
This afternoon we played a Christmas snakes & ladders followed by packing the parcels for Santa! Even our little furry friend, Bambi got involved in the fun!
Christmas Bulbs Potting
One of our nurses here at Mount Vale has been busy with Residents potting up all of the Christmas bulbs.
It’s lovely to bring the outside in. We are looking forward to see them all bloom and brighten up the home.
A visit from our little friends!
We had our favourite little visitors from Rosedene nursery come and see us and present a Christmas Hamper for our Residents to enjoy.
They always make us smile, we look forward to seeing them much more in the New year.
Wizard of Oz Pantomime
Festivities are in full swing at Mount Vale with a “Wizard of Oz” pantomime performance from Cats Pyjamas Productions.
The show kept us all singing along and even a little scared when the Wicked witch of the west appeared. Everyone had a wonderful time and it really made it feel like Christmas.
