Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Oak Grange Care Home

Deck the halls...

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Oak Grange care home, in Mollington have been decking the halls, getting out the tinsel and unravelling the fairy lights, ready for a whole host of Christmas celebrations.

Oak Grange’s residents and staff have been busy creating lots of home-made table decorations, garlands, wreaths to make the home as festive as can be.  The residents have also been crafting home-made decorations for the Christmas tree which they all helped to decorate, the tree is looking truly magnificent covered in beautiful Christmas lights, bows, candy canes and sugar mice.

New friends!

Last week, we were joined virtually by The Donkey Sanctuary UK for a question and answer session and to see the Donkeys virtually in there environment.

The residents fell in love with the donkeys, so today we had a very special surprise for our residents. We had two visitors, Fiona and Shrek from Alwood donkeys.

The residents had the opportunity to see the donkeys up close and of course have a cuddle or two. What a fabulous way to spend our weekend!

Thank you gifts

Our residents have been very busy this morning here at Oak Grange. Our residents have been putting together packages to thank our very hard working delivery drivers, postal worker and emergency services.

With many of our delivery drivers, postal worker and emergency service workers working longer hours over the festive period, this is our small token of appreciation.  The packages were filled by our residents full of sweet treats and a selection of drinks to keep hydrated.

Advent treats...

Today marks the last day of November, which means from tomorrow we begin the countdown to Christmas.  What better way to count down to Christmas for our residents than a sweet treat! Our residents were delighted as they each received there very own advent calendar. A little treat from Oak Grange to begin the festivities!

Lantern Walk

Our residents were off out on the minibus this evening as we headed to Chester Zoo.  Our residents thoughrly enjoyed taking part in The Lantern Walk, taking in all the beautiful scenery and lights.  We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back!

Donkey Sanctuary Manchester

Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester. Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care.  They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide.  The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
