Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Roni Paynter
Hi, My name is Roni and I am the Lead Activities coordinator here at Oak Grange, the wellbeing and happiness of each resident are at the forefront of everything we do, and I am committed to upholding these values as your activities coordinator.
Having worked in various care settings and possessing a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults. I bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the role. My primary objective is to create a vibrant and engaging activities programme that caters to the unique interests, abilities and preferences of each resident.
Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, enjoyment and companionship. From engaging social events and group outings to stimulating cognitive exercises and creative pursuits, our goal is to ensure that there is always something for everyone to look forward to. Furthermore, I am here not only as an Activities coordinator but also as a friend and confidant, I encourage open communication, suggestions, and feedback from each resident and their families.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Oak Grange Care Home
Making your mind up!
Staff and residents pulled out all the stops by dressing up in their finery to perform Bucks Fizz ‘Making Their Mind Up’ as they competed against their sister homes across Scotland and North of England in a virtual Eurovision Song Contest.
The residents sang their hearts out and staff from all departments danced and sang along with them. Oak Grange came 3dr and the residents celebrated with a glass of Bucks Fizz.
Musical mystery tour
Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.
Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.
The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
Vintage car show
Motor enthusiast residents and staff at Oak Grange care home, in Mollington were hosts to Chester Wedding Cars from the Chester Vintage Enthusiasts Car Club who brought their magnificent vintage cars and bikes along for the day, for all to admire.
Staff and residents were delighted to invite Chester Vintage Cars along to show off their wonderful cars and talk to residents and visitors about them. Everyone had a fantastic time comparing the merits of the different makes and models and discussing their histories.
General Manager Sarah Butler said: “We have had such a lovely day, it is so nice to be able to invite visitors into our gardens again. Lots of our residents are car enthusiasts so they loved being able to look at the cars and chat to their owners. We are planning lots more events like this one to make sure we make the most of the summer months.”
Oak Grange’s 10th Birthday
We celebrated Oak Grange’s 10th Birthday in Style with a Hoe-down themed party with a visit from fudge cake the therapy pony, fancy dress, Singers Ian and Andy Vocal entertainers and games and dancing. The staff also treated the residents and families to a country and western dance they had learnt for the occasion! A good time was had by all.
Platinum Proms
The residents Had a lovely time watching a live Streamed Platinum Proms from Chester Cathedral. They donned their Union Jack hats and waved flags along to the beautiful performers.
World Chocolate Day
For Chocolate day we enjoyed an exciting Sensory Chocolate tasting experience, trying different chocolate and crowning a winner.
