Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Roni Paynter
Hi, My name is Roni and I am the Lead Activities coordinator here at Oak Grange, the wellbeing and happiness of each resident are at the forefront of everything we do, and I am committed to upholding these values as your activities coordinator.
Having worked in various care settings and possessing a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults. I bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the role. My primary objective is to create a vibrant and engaging activities programme that caters to the unique interests, abilities and preferences of each resident.
Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, enjoyment and companionship. From engaging social events and group outings to stimulating cognitive exercises and creative pursuits, our goal is to ensure that there is always something for everyone to look forward to. Furthermore, I am here not only as an Activities coordinator but also as a friend and confidant, I encourage open communication, suggestions, and feedback from each resident and their families.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Oak Grange Care Home
Gardening Club
Residents at Oak Grange Care Home have taken the opportunity with the early spring sunshine to plant seeds ready for the garden and pots, along with a little flower arranging as part of their gardening club. The floral arrangements and scent can be seen around the home.
Virtual talk - Mary Quant
Oak Grange treated our residents to a ‘Mary Quant Life and Times’ virtual talk, provided by V&A Dundee, on 23 March.
The residents had the opportunity to journey back to the swinging sixties and the height of liberated fashion with the first major exhibition in 50 years of the seminal British designer’s work.
The virtual activities are specially designed and tailored to the interests of the residents.
Jane, one of our residents, said: ”what a lovely opportunity to hear about Mary Quant, it was lovely to reminisce about the old fashioned way. “
St Patrick's Day
Residents and staff at Oak Grange celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day this week.
The home was decorated with shamrocks and everyone got dressed up in green to mark the day.
Staff and residents at the home marked the day by making shamrock decorations, learning some Irish words and phrases, learning Irish dances, going on a virtual tour of Ireland, listening to Irish music and having a cider and beer Irish tasting.
World Poetry Day
Rhyming couplets were the order of the day at Oak Grange care home in Mollington where residents were keen to get involved in World Poetry Day.
UNESCO says: Poetry reaffirms our common humanity by revealing to us that individuals, everywhere in the world, share the same questions and feelings. Poetry is the mainstay of oral tradition and, over centuries, can communicate the innermost values of diverse cultures.
Remembering the forces sweetheart
Oak Grange Care home was transformed into a 1940’s tea dance to celebrate and mark Dame Vera Lynn’s birthday on March 20th. Resident’s enjoyed listening to songs from this iconic forces sweetheart as they sung along to ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ and many more.
The homes Activities team performed for the residents, and the homes hospitality team, led by Head chef Simon Burns baked a wonderful array of cakes and biscuits all washed down with pots of tea.
Home receives floral gift
Everyone at Oak Grange would like to say a HUGE thank you to Emma from ‘Flowers by Emma of Chester Ltd’ who kindly dropped off this beautiful bouquet which she had made especially for us. We truly appreciate this random act of kindness to cheer us up and they are displayed in our Bistro area where we can all appreciate them. Thank you Emma!
