Activities at Oak Grange Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Roni Paynter
Hi, My name is Roni and I am the Lead Activities coordinator here at Oak Grange, the wellbeing and happiness of each resident are at the forefront of everything we do, and I am committed to upholding these values as your activities coordinator.

Life at Oak Grange Care Home
Clothes Party
We recently held a very successful clothes party with Ken from Windsor Fashions. This was held in our bistro, and was very popular with residents, staff and families. We were able to try things on to help us decide what we wanted.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning here at Oak Grange - and it was a huge success! There was plenty of cake, tea and, of course, coffee for everyone to enjoy.
What have we been up to?
Our flower ladies have been decorating our dining room tables each week, there's been plenty of fun and games during the afternoons, where we all reminisce about our favourite pastimes; and we've been enjoying ice cream during the recent bouts of sunshine.
What we did during the summer holiday
We kept ourselves busy over the summer holiday this year: we spent some social mornings out in the garden and spoke about all the Olympic medals we were winning; we explored the secret gardens at Abbeywood, had a good laugh at our Tommy Cooper evening, with entertainment provided by Derek Herbert; hosted a Hawaiian BBQ lunch with authentic Hawaiian music and fruity cocktails; and, finally, we visited Chester Zoo.
National Yorkshire Day
We celebrated National Yorkshire Day with a game of 'Call My Yorkshire Bluff', with sayings and phrases that were read out by one of our native Yorkshire residents. We also enjoyed fruit cakes, Wenslydale cheese and pots of Yorkshire Tea.
Musical Fun with Susan Walker
Susan Walker visited Oak Grange recently and brought her saxophone with her. Residents and staff enjoyed her music and can't wait for Susan to return.
