Activities at Ochil Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

What a fantastic Day we had at Ochil enjoying a Fancy Dress Party to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The smell of cakes and the sound of singing and laughter filled the halls of our home. It was all thanks to lovely people who helped to make our event a roaring success!

Whether you came to support this incredible cause and indulge in some delicious treats, enjoy the company of family and friends or to donate the raffle prizes, your enthusiasm and generosity have truly shone through.

Together we are making a real difference!

A Day Well Spent at Perth Museum!

Our residents had a fantastic time visiting Perth Museum where they explored fascinating exhibits and learned so much about our local history. The highlight of the visit was seeing the iconic “Stone of Destiny”, a symbol of Scotland’s heritage.

After the museum, everyone enjoyed a delightful lunch in the Museum café, where we shared stories and laughter. It was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and create lasting memories. We are looking forward to the next visit!

Virtual trip to Cornish Seal Sanctuary

A big thank you to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for the fantastic live virtual event today!

Residents across our services loved seeing the seals up close and learning about the incredible work the sanctuary does to protect them and other wildlife in Cornwall as well.

Everyone truly enjoyed the experience.

A sweet outing to Stewart Tower Dairy

Some of our residents recently enjoyed a delightful outing to Stewart Tower Dairy which is nestled in the heart of beautiful Perthshire; known for its delicious gelato-style dairy ice-cream a perfect day excursion for a sunny day.

As we arrived the staff greeted us warmly and guided us to the ice cream parlour. The variety of flavours on offer was impressive and each resident selected their favourite flavour and the smiles on their faces were a testament to the delicious ice-cream.

In addition to the ice cream, the visit provide an opportunity to explore the farm shop where we found a range of local produce. The outing was not only a culinary delight but also a chance to support local businesses and enjoy the scenic views of the countryside. We look forward to our next visit!

Authentic Chippy Lunch

Our recent Chippy Lunch was a delightful experience for all of our residents. Held in the cosy dining area the event featured the menu with variety of traditional favourites of fish and chips, battered sausage, white pudding, curry sauce and gravy creating a feast that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Our dedicated kitchen staff had perfectly battered the fish and fried it to a golden crisp; was the highlight of the meal accompanied by the thick cut chips, the dish evoked nostalgic memories of seaside holidays.

It was heart-warming to see the joy and camaraderie as our residents enjoyed each other’s company. Overall the chippy lunch was a resounding success leaving everyone looking forward to the next culinary adventure!

A heart-warming outing to the Dementia Café Tea Dance

Our recent visit to the Dementia Café Tea Dance at the North Church in Perth was a truly memorable experience.

The event provides a welcoming and supporting environment for individuals living with dementia, their families and caregivers.

As we arrived at the North Church Hall, we were greeted by the warm smiles of volunteers and the soothing melodies of classic tunes playing in the background. The hall was beautifully decorated creating a festive and inviting atmosphere. The Tea Dance offered a wonderful interview for everyone to come together enjoy some music and the share in the joy of dancing.

One of the highlights of the outing was seeing the joy on faces of our residents as they danced along to their favourite songs.

Overall our outing to the Dementia Café Tea dance was a delightful and enriching experience. It reminded us of the importance of community, connection and the simple joys of life.
