Activities at Orchard House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
Double Take
Performing duo and twin sisters, 'Double Take,' came into the home to perform in the bluebell garden during the afternoon on Saturday 8th July.
It was a lovely day and everyone appeared to really enjoy themselves. We had lots of refreshments available for loved ones who joined us as well.
Champagne Enterprise
We recently had a visit from Champagne Enterprise who came in to present 'Through The Decades' accompanied by our lovely Val who came to sing and entertain.
Val had microphones for the residents to sing along, and some of the residents took turns singing with the mic! Even the admin team joined in and had a sing along for us!
Everyone appeared to really enjoy themselves and have said they can’t wait for her to come again!
Our Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Faye Flanagan, who has been named as a divisional winner in the 'Home Administration Champion' category in the 2017 Barchester Care Awards.
Our Sensory Garden
This garden now contains a herb box that will hopefully bring wonderful smells into our garden along with the (wheelchair accessible) raised flower beds. The new pond/water feature should make the garden a relaxing place for those who live at Orchard House to sit and take in the beautiful surrounding.
We would like to thank our maintenance team, Paul Smith, Laurie Mosling & Dom Renzullo, who have put in so much work to make this garden happen. And a thank you to all the staff and general public that have donated fish, plants and knowledge to help make the garden come to life!
Day at the Seaside
We go to the seaside once a week as there are plenty of beautiful beaches around the Isle of Wight.
Easter at The Orchard
We had an Easter egg hunt and an Easter bonnet parade. Residents made the bonnets and wore them proudly during the parade.
